Also known as VSTi, VST instruments come in two different forms; samplers and synthesizers. The description is basically in the name. Instead of using hundreds of different drums, trumpets, and violins to create instrumental sounds, these sounds are already created within a plugin. By the push of a button you can use an instrumental sound without having to physically use a big and bulky instrument.
Different VSTi plugins are:
⦁ Drums
⦁ Synth
⦁ Bass
⦁ Strings
⦁ Piano
⦁ Orchestral
Let’s have a closer look at these:
Drums
Drum plugins are very common and used in many types of music. Different plugins will give you realistic drumming sounds without a huge drum set being present. A plugin can either mimic the true sound of the cymbals and drumming kit, or it can give other features that create more depth.
Synth
Synth plugins help to create digital waveforms. It mimics the sounds created by a synthesizer – a digital electronic musical instrument used by DJs and techno groups to create electro audio signals.
Bass
Many music listeners love the sound of a deep bass in the background. There are loads of different bass plugins available on the market, but experience has shown us that the lower the sound the better.
Strings
Instruments like the guitar, violin, and cello can be recreated with the string plugin. Instead of getting a musician to play sheet music, you can create it by using plugins in your sounding system.
